I don't know about your family, but in mine, we have one member who is a self acclaimed food critic. That came in the shape of our second son who since birth have had to endure peanut allergies. Later on, he developed an allergy for raw apples which he deeply regretted because that's about the only fruit he really took a liking to. He has been since birth, a very picky eater and almost always has a verdict on any dish that passes his tongue which had grown even more discriminating into his teen years. On this Friday evening, we decided to go to our favorite Vietnamese restaurant only to find out much to our chagrin that it is closed for 2 weeks. We didn't really want to venture far from the area that we decided to just let our discriminating taster stick it out to a restaurant that my husband and I always liked for its healthy menu. We didn't expect that our little food critic (He really isn't little anymore) would be impressed. My husband ordered taco carnitas for gluten-free option while I ordered a 'skinny' salad with blackened salmon. Our food critic ordered nacho steak as appetizer which came in the amount of serving that stunned him. He was pleasantly impressed by the steak fajita he ordered as well. When our critic is happy, it makes us happy because we are spared by the verbal complaints we hear. Thank you Cafe Fresh for serving us tonight!
